Apache WSS4J was developed to sign and verify SOAP messages with WS-Security information.
The WSS4J library has been built using Apache CXF and Apache Axis and provides a way to secure Web service transports against basic attacks and sniffing attempts.
The library also provides message confidentiality, integrity, authentication and authorization to all SOAP messaging streams.
This ensures data reaches its destination without being compromised or broken into, and the two involved parties can easily authenticate and access the data without errors.
