Apache Gora aims at providing a common ground on which developers can create tools that can handle large quantities of information, regardless of their underlying storage unit.
Gora is written in Java and was created as an alternative to other Java ORMs that were deemed insufficient when needing to handle data coming from different storage models and in very large, quantitative streams.
The Gora ORM helps developers set up a common data representation and data persistence model on which they can create tools that can be used to access, index, analyze, and work with the data in a common, unified way.
This will allow developers to switch from one data storage unit to another without making ground-breaking changes in the application's code.
