Text are similar to image clips. Text is drawn in a rectangle and can have rich properties such as fonts, colors, kerning etc.
To add a text clip:
- Move the time slider to when you want the text to appear.
- Select a track where you want to insert the text into. The track should be empty at the time. Alternatively if you don't select an empty track a new track will be created.
- Click the text tool in the toolbar.
- Drag a rectangle in the movie canvas where you want the text.
- Type in the text. You can also use the Format menu to set rich text properties.
- Click somewhere outside the text to end editing.
- Alter text in a existing text clip by double clicking on it
- Texts by default are drawn in a rectangle. You can change the color of the rectangle to transparent to hide it.
- The text is key framed, so you can change the text over time by moving the time slider and editing the text.
- You can add filters to text, just as with images or movie clips.
