What is it For?

Whether it's your meeting minutes, interviews, lectures, home movies, dictation, speeches, or your favorite TV show, Transcriva can help you transcribe them all. You do the typing, Transcriva takes care of the rest.

Manual Transcription Aid

Voice recognition packages are expensive and inaccurate, making it necessary to go back over what they "recognized" with a fine-tooth comb, fixing all the mistakes. Hitting "Play" in a media player and typing into a word processor document is clunky and unhelpful.

Transcriva is a nice middle-ground tool, integrating the media player with a powerful transcript editor. The playback controls can be completely keyboard-driven or even driven with a compatible USB foot pedal. Transcriva maintains your library of transcripts and their associated media files, and even lets you keep track of who is speaking in your transcripts.

What do I Have To Do?

You do the listening and typing. Add a transcript associated with a media file, press play. Each time someone speaks, create an entry and type. Any time there is more speech followed by a pause or a lull, create a new entry. This keeps your transcript well-organized so individual segments of speech can be easily located when reviewing the transcript.
