Uninstalling the modem

It may be necessary at some point to uninstall the ADSL Modem USB. This may be necessary if an updated version of the ADSL Modem SUB software has been obtained, or the ADSL Modem USB needs to be removed from the system.

Uninstalling the ADSL Modem USB will erase your configuration, removing all connection definitions you have established. Please make a note of all important information before uninstalling the ADSL Modem USB.

To uninstall the 3Com ADSL modem USB, follow the instructions below for the version of Microsoft Windows you are using.


Removing ADSL Modem USB Software

Step 1. Select Start > Programs > 3Com ADSL Modem USB > Uninstall

Step 2. You will see the following screen, informing you that Windows is in the process of performing the uninstall.

Step 3.The next screen lets you know that the maintenance is complete.

 

After Windows has removed the Modem software, remove the Modem card from your machine (continue to the Removing ADSL Modem USB hardware section, if necessary).

Your Modem is now completely removed.

NOTE: If you do not remove the Modem card from the machine, you will be asked by Windows to re-install it. You can select Cancel if you have not removed the card yet.


Removing ADSL Modem USB Hardware

After uninstallation of the software and drivers, it may be necessary to unplug the ADSL Modem USB.

If the ADSL Modem USB has been uninstalled, the system will detect the device upon restarting the computer (if Plug & Play was enabled on the modem).
